About TripPack

Free smart packing list generator for 150+ countries

TL;DR: TripPack is a free tool that generates personalized travel packing lists based on your destination, dates, and trip type — complete with real-time weather, visa info, and cultural tips.

What is TripPack?

TripPack is a free travel packing list generator. Enter your destination, travel dates, and trip type, and you'll get a personalized checklist tailored to your journey — including weather forecasts, country alerts, visa information, and voltage/plug types.

We currently cover 150+ countries and 343 destinations worldwide, from Tokyo to Tulum, from Reykjavik to Rio.

Why We Built TripPack

Every traveler has forgotten something important. The wrong voltage adapter for your laptop charger. No rain jacket during monsoon season. Missing visa documents discovered at the airport check-in counter.

TripPack was built to solve this — a tool that thinks about what you need so you don't have to. We wanted something that goes beyond a generic checklist and actually considers where you're going, when you're traveling, and what kind of trip you're taking.

Who Built TripPack?

TripPack was built by Seheo — a frequent traveler and web developer who has packed (and overpacked) for trips across Japan, Korea, Thailand, Italy, France, the UK, and a dozen other countries over the past several years.

The idea came from a specific frustration: arriving in Tokyo in March with summer clothes because I checked the average temperature but not the actual forecast. That single mistake — shivering through Senso-ji temple in a t-shirt — led to building a tool that checks real weather data instead of just monthly averages.

Every packing recommendation on this site comes from real travel experience. When the Japan guide says "bring a compact umbrella for cherry blossom season," it's because I got caught in three separate spring rainstorms in Kyoto. When the Thailand guide warns about temple dress codes, it's because I watched someone get turned away at Wat Pho for wearing shorts.

Seheo is based in the United States and independently maintains TripPack, including the country database, packing algorithms, and all editorial content.

How It Works

When you enter your trip details, TripPack does the following behind the scenes:

Everything runs in your browser. No account needed, no data sent to our servers.

Our Data

Weather data comes from Open-Meteo, an open-source weather API that provides free, high-quality forecasts without requiring API keys or user tracking.

Country-specific information — including voltage, plug types, visa requirements, water safety, tipping culture, health precautions, and cultural tips — is maintained in our built-in database and updated regularly.

We always recommend verifying visa and health requirements with official government sources before travel.

Free Forever

TripPack is and will always be free. No signup required. No hidden fees. No premium tier. We believe a good packing list shouldn't cost money.

The site is supported by ads to keep the lights on — that's it.

Editorial Standards

Every destination guide on TripPack follows a simple standard: recommend only what has been personally verified or confirmed through official government sources. Voltage information comes from the IEC World Plugs database. Visa requirements are cross-referenced with official embassy websites. Weather data is pulled in real-time from Open-Meteo, an open-source meteorological API.

TripPack has no sponsored content and accepts no payment for product recommendations. If a guide suggests a specific item (like reef-safe sunscreen for Hawaii), it's because local law requires it — not because a brand paid for the mention.

All packing guides are reviewed and updated regularly to reflect current visa policies, entry requirements, and travel conditions.
