Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 27, 2026
Short version: TripPack does not collect, store, or share your personal data. Everything stays on your device. We don't have a server that processes your information.
1. Who We Are
TripPack (mytrippack.com) is a free, browser-based travel packing list generator. The service is provided as-is at no cost.
2. What Data We Collect
TripPack does not collect any personally identifiable information. We do not have:
- User accounts or registration
- Login or authentication of any kind
- A backend database storing your data
- Email collection or mailing lists
3. Local Storage
To improve your experience, TripPack saves the following data locally in your browser using localStorage:
- Your packing list state — which items you've checked off (
trippack_checks_v1) - Your form settings — destination, dates, trip type, companions (
trippack_form_v1) - Custom items — any items you've manually added to your list (
trippack_custom_items_v1) - Theme preference — dark or light mode (
trippack_theme)
This data never leaves your device. It is stored only in your browser and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
4. Third-Party Services
TripPack connects to the following external services to provide its functionality:
- Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — a free, open-source weather API. When you enter a destination, your city name is sent to Open-Meteo's servers to retrieve weather forecasts. Open-Meteo does not require an API key and does not track users. See Open-Meteo Terms.
- Google Fonts — the Inter typeface is loaded from Google's CDN. Google may log font requests. See Google Privacy Policy.
- Vercel — TripPack is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) as part of its infrastructure. See Vercel Privacy Policy.
5. Analytics
TripPack uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect aggregated, anonymized usage data (page views, session duration, device type, and country). IP addresses are anonymized by default. No personally identifiable information is collected via GA4.
TripPack also uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate performance monitoring. No personal data is stored.
6. Cookies
TripPack uses analytics cookies set by Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_Q1HRYYQGYG) for traffic analysis. These cookies do not contain personally identifiable information and expire after 2 years. Local storage (described in Section 3) is also used for strictly functional purposes.
7. Children's Privacy
TripPack does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The service does not require registration and collects no personal data from any user.
8. Advertising
TripPack may display ads through Google AdSense in the future. Google AdSense uses cookies and may collect data to serve personalized ads based on your browsing behavior. You can opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com. If AdSense is added, this policy will be updated with full disclosure.
9. Data Accuracy Disclaimer
⚠️ The travel information provided by TripPack (visa requirements, health advisories, packing suggestions) is for general reference only. Always verify visa, health, and safety requirements with official government sources before travel. Information is reviewed periodically and may not reflect recent changes.
10. Your Rights
Since TripPack does not collect personal data on our servers, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete on request. If you wish to clear the locally stored data on your device, use your browser's "Clear Site Data" function for mytrippack.com.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of TripPack after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, you can reach us at hsr815815@gmail.com or via the feedback option on the main site at mytrippack.com.
